The Mirror Garak is willing to help her, if she'll help him overthrow Intendant Kira so he can take command. Kira tries to get help from the Mirror Quark, but he is found out and executed, and she has less success with the Mirror Sisko, who was able to charm his way up to being Intendant Kira's enforcer in the sector. Intendant Kira is willing to entertain the idea of letting Kira return to the prime universe and gives her free run of the station, but for a lax bodyguard. Bashir is assigned to labor in ore processing under the watchful eye of the alternate Odo, but Intendant Kira takes an interest in her counterpart and spares her the same fate. ![]() ![]() Deep Space 9 is still Terok Nor, under the command of Intendant Kira Nerys and First Officer Garak, and the Terrans are enslaved. In this alternate universe, Kirk did successfully persuade Mirror Spock to reform the Terran Empire, but this made the Terrans easy conquest for The Alliance, a coalition of Bajorans, Cardassians, and Klingons. They discover that they are in the Mirror Universe that Kirk and his crew discovered a century earlier. Things get even stranger when they are boarded by Klingons who are initially hostile but immediately become downright apologetic when they see Kira. The Klingons and other warrior races took over.Kira is seeing double.Kira and Bashir have an unusually rough trip through the wormhole on their way back to DS9, and emerge to find the station nowhere in sight. The empire showed weakness and got blasted away, to the point that humans were the lowest of the lowly slaves, and mostly exterminated. The Mirror Kira tells them that, all those years ago, Spock did indeed try and reform the empire, and build a universe that was kinder and more just.īut they burned it to the ground. The next time we visit the Mirror Universe is some 100 years after TOS, in Season Two of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, in an episode called ‘Crossover.’ Another anomaly sends Major Kira and Doctor Bashir into the Mirror Universe. ![]() The crew of the Enterprise in the Mirror Universe in the episode ‘Mirror Mirror.’ That might have been a mistake The Mirror Spock said that he would consider it. Kirk submitted that such a brutal regime was not logical and could not stand. However, this was not before Kirk made a case to Mirror Spock to try and take over from Mirror Kirk, and change things for the better. But they had to play along until they could figure out a way to get home. Kirk and company were horrified at the bloodlust and casual genocide committed by these people. ![]() Their counterparts, meanwhile, ended up in our universe. Our Captain Georgiou and the Mirror Universe counterpart, the Emperor Starting in the middle of the storyįor the fans, we first visited the Mirror Universe in Star Trek: The Original Series‘ second season: ‘Mirror, Mirror.’ Captain Kirk, McCoy, Uhura and Scott were teleporting back to the Enterprise from an away mission when an ion storm interfered with the transporter beam, sending them into the other universe. ![]()
